FULL SERVICE HYDRAULICS

QUALITY CONTROL
Whether your cylinder is huge, small, or somewhere in between, the repair process is virtually the same. As cylinders enter the shop, they are first identified with an internal control number. As they journey through production, they will be cleaned then placed on a tear down bench for complete disassembly and inspection to determine the extent of damage and wear on one of our five Disassembly/Assembly stations. Magnaflux and chemical flaw detections seek out the most microscopic failures. Non-reusable parts can be made available for customer inspection. Components are washed and cleaned at every stage of the process. Generally cylinders will be built back to original CAT design including critical and current engineering updates providing a same as new quality and warranty. Skilled and experienced hydraulic technicians decide the most cost-effective and quality repair for your cylinders.

REPAIR OPTIONS
Repair Options include: Re-rod and/or re-tube using only the finest seamless barrel material and induction hardened chrome rod stock. Salvageability of rods and barrels, including rod-eye weld / machining and honing. Rod straightening can be done in the 150-ton rod press and then checked for precision accuracy. Finally, lightning fast turnaround using Walker's multi-million dollar exchange inventory can have you up and running swiftly.

PARTS SALVAGE
Often times components are salvageable at great savings utilizing our metal spray coating process to build up material for machining. Or perhaps selective chemical and electroplating repair processes may be used in minor rod imperfections.

HONING CAPABILITIES
What you can't see may hurt hydraulic system performance. Sure a leak is easy to see but performance-robbing internal leaks cost you. That's why Walker recommends the value of light honing. Light honing is part of our reseal process. It corrects hard to see imperfections before they become failures or performance robbers. These imperfections can accelerate seal wear and cut machine productivity as much as 16% without operator awareness. Honing gives a true bore and surface finish that provides longer seal life, less downtime, and more performance...another example of the Walker difference.

After careful reassembly all hydraulic components are inspected and pressure tested using state of the art equipment to insure the quality customers expect. All cylinders and pumps are pressure tested and certified clean using a live oil particle count analyzer. Just more of The Walker Difference.

PAINT AND SHIP
Cylinders and parts sent to Walker Hydraulic and Machine Shop are painted and readied for final shipment back to the customer.

PUMPS AND MOTORS
Pumps and Motors can be rebuilt to original specifications using quality parts and factory reman sub-assemblies. Walker is capable of servicing all makes and models and can test them for performance and reliability...more of The Walker difference.

PRODUCTION AND PRECISION WELDING

Production and Precision Welding is handled through Mig, Tig, and Stick capabilities on steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Our welders and fabricators can manufacture guards, grab irons, and custom structures. These skillful welders can produce quality welds for parts to be machined that provide ease of machining and increased savings to our customers.

MACHINE WORK
Machine work is the backbone of savings in hydraulic repairs, large parts, castings, and large housings. This capability allows for salvageability at fractions of new costs. Suffice to say that Walker Machinery is proud to have equipped our huge facility with numerous lathes, drill presses, milling and boring machines, saws, and cylinder benches of all sizes to accommodate the smallest to the largest cylinders and parts for Caterpillar and competitive equipment. We are the BIG cylinder specialists. All sizes, makes and models welcomed.

AUTOMATED FACILITIES
With its specialized hydraulic facility near the size of a football field, and hydraulic stations handling 60,000 ft pounds of torque, Walker Machinery's Hydraulic and Machine Services deliver a wide range of capability. In addition to full service hydraulic cylinder repair, Walker services include complete welding, fabrication, and machine shop services. And, it's convenient too. CONTAMINATION CONTROL
Walker Machinery's Hydraulics facility is rated as a 5 Star Contamination Control Facility. This is the highest, most coveted rating among Caterpillar dealers. Contamination is the number one enemy of hydraulic systems with more than 70% of hydraulic problems being traced to contamination. It's absolutely critical to control contamination in the hydraulic repair process. That's just part of the Walker Difference.
