60 PINTS FOR 60 YEARS
(Published October 31, 2013)
BELLE – Belle, WV – Did you know that more than one million new people are diagnosed with cancer each year? Many of them will need blood - sometimes daily - during their treatment. The share of the U.S. population eligible to donate blood is less than 38 percent. As Walker Machinery Co. celebrates its 60th Anniversary, it believes that the people in its organization can work together for their common good, for the common good of the company and the community. That is why it makes perfect sense for Walker Machinery and The American National Red Cross to form a collaboration to strive for 60 Pints for 60 Years! This year, Walker is celebrating its 60th anniversary as a Caterpillar®
dealer. “We are fortunate to have had such enduring success,” said
Walker Executive Vice President Tim McLean. “In appreciation, we would
like to give something back to the community that helped us grow.” Some
of Walker’s dedicated employees will volunteer their time and skills to
help make “The Walker Difference” for The American National Red Cross.
On Oct. 31, amongst scary goblins and creepy witches, Walker donated 33 pints to the American Red Cross. Walker will continue its efforts through some of its other branches to strive for the 60 pints, thanks to employees, community members and The American National Red Cross.
